The Unusual Past flash fiction

I lost track of counting how many menacing gazes were transfixed on the powerful man who was standing firm and proud.

Everybody gathered. The locals stood with dignity. Their pride is hinted at from protesting and throwing dagger-like words towards him.

I couldn't help but question everything that is happening.

No presence of bloodshed, spears, and even swords and guns.

This feels weird and unusual. Is this just a play?

Isn't a revolt? A resistance just like what Rizal did in his famous masterpiece! How come-

"This is EDSA's People Power. We don't use violence. It is completely different from your past way of revolting, Pepe."
