Like A Star

A poetry that prays for Overseas Filipino Workers

You're like a star,

Too far to reach,

Missing you in the starry night,

But making me feel so jovial,

Just glimpsing at your light.

I am alone,

Feeling melancholic at most times,

Waiting for your presence,

Because sometimes,

You do not exist in the night sky.

Even though we're far from each other,

I love you no matter what,

I know you're doing this for us, your loved ones,

That's why I salute you!

For taking a risk for our future.

I pray for your safety,

Whatever you're doing daily,

I pray for your mental health stability,

I know you're feeling worst than I am,

Because you sacrificed for your loved ones.
